19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized the Russian player claimed his initial title for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid year, winning just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in specific - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with long-time coach Cervara.
Currently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought three-set victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is his first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after March of 2023.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at 21 distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my children together, so to secure a championship is particularly special," said tennis professional the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted some to question if his capacity to perform at the highest level was concluded.
However the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and perform aggressively, supported by an enhanced service.
He came back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, winning 4 of the last five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors exchanged breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first tour victory, gained dominance to push for a decider.
Moutet saved four early-game break points in a competitive final set before the champion secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, he secured the title with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
